Default Windows Crashes

I have recentley installed a new graphics card on my girlfriends computer. A
Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 128Mb memory in a PCI slot. Her computer is a Packard
Bell, AMD Athlon XP 3000+, 3D Now, MMX, 2.2Ghz. 512 Mb Ram runinng Windows XP
Home Edition with service pack 2 and Direct X 9c. It keeps crashing and I
don't know why. Monitor turns off, so does the sound but the computer keeps
running, I can turn it off with the keyboard. What's wrong? Can you help? Lee.

Jules, go to Control PanelAdd/Remove Programs. Remove the Nvidia Graphics
Driver, then
rt click on MyComputerselect PropertiesHardwareDevice ManagerDisplay
AdaptorsNvidia Card. rt click and
choose uninstall. Shutdown and remove the Graphics Card and try a
different PCI slot. Try a different Nvidia Graphics
Driver also. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.98.html
