How do disable autoplay once and for all? I have tried telling XP not to take any actions when
I insert a CD or flash card or turn on a USB drive, but XP always scans the drive, as if it is looking for some file/content-type that it can ask about. I don't want XP to do ANYTHING with ANY type of media. Ever. How do I do this? |

My Computer right-click on the icon for your optical drive select
Properties select AutoPlay tab place a checkmark in 'Take no action' click Apply repeat for all content types click OK. Note that this method will not work if you are a member of a domain or otherwise subject to group policy. -- Ted Zieglar "You can do it if you try." wrote in message news:[email protected]_s21... To get to the configuration screen for this setting, go to Start Menu \ Run and type in:
gpedit.msc You should select Administrative Templates \ System. Double click the item, and set the radio button to Enabled, and change the “Turn off Autoplay on” to All Drives. Now you should be safe from the autoplay monster. |
