Default Wingding Instead Of ENGLISH ???

I have a Dell notebook (Inspiron\2650) running XP Home.
It blue screened on me after I installed McAfee and was
going thru the update process. I left it to update on
it's on and when I came back to it the blue screen was
there. It showed --- 000050 (0xBE68F000, 0x00000001,
0xBF800DA4, 0x0000000)

Once I rebooted it, it's now giving me windding text for
everything. On the logon screen when it goes to GUI,
after I put my password in it then has wingding text for
all of the text under the desktop icons. I go into any
window or application and it has wingding for all the
text there as well. The only place that it doesn't have
wingding displayed is in the top bar of the windows. It
will show the name of the applications and/or the
directory address of the folder that is open with no
problem. Example--- C:\folder\file as long as its in
the top bar of the window... (next to the min, max and X
buttons)

It's only within the window itself that the text
changes. Even in the start menu, all the icons stay the
same but all of the text is wingding. I can't make my way
to system restore because I don't know exactly what to
hit, it ALL looks like scribble scrabble!! Any ideas on
how to change the text back to ENGLISH without going thru
the trouble of going back thru time to a restore point??

Any and ALLL help would be GREATLY appreciated. I'M IN
DIRE STRAITS HERE!!
THANX N ADVANCE The Rookie/Wayne B.

Sounds like you are missing some of the standard fonts that are included
with Windows XP. You can reinstall them by running Windows XP
Setup to repair the installation. For more information see the following
