Default will a Canon DV camera work in Messenger

I have set up Messenger for audio conversation but want to see it work with video too.
I can't until a contact with the right set up accepts my invite.

I have a DV camera hooked into a firewire port and have done movies in movie maker etc. but will Messenger accept it?
All the help pages say a Web Cam. I don't have a capture card for my vidcam.

Greetings Tony,

It may, if you click the Tools menu, then Options, then Audio Tuning Wizard (or Audio/Video
Tuning Wizard) and choose the camera (or Microsoft DV) during the wizard. If you're using
MSN Messenger 6.1, make sure you use the Actions menu, "Start Video Conference" option (the
'Webcam' option won't work).
