Default MS Service pack

-----Original Message-----
I have just downloaded the service pack one and my
computer now loads up with NO icons on the desktop.
Safe mode is the same and I cannot enter system restore.
How can this happen with an MS product and can I get out
of it without re-formatting ?
Thanks
Ray
.
Had simular problem. Quick fix: turn system off and turn

on while press(tapping) F8. cursor up to safe mode.
select safe mode and next window select admin button and
you should get a window to select restore. Select No and
the next window, select you want to restore to a previous
date. Highlite the Service pack and select. the system
will restore all information prior to installing service
pack. It takes about 20-30 minutes to restore. Don't
install service pack again unless you want the same
results. Wait on the new sp2.
