Default xp service pack 2

I have a problem with Windows XP Service pack 2 on my system.
I have had to turn off autoupdates as I can't get it to run.
Everytime I try to install service pack 2 it crashes my system and I have to un-install it.

Here is my system setup.

Desktop system
Pentium 4 1.06mhz, 384 megs ram, Windows XP home Service pack 1, running Sysmpatico/MsN premium using a D-link 802.11g wireless router.

Laptop system
Dell P4 2.06 mhz, 512 mg ram, Windows xp home using a internal wireless 802.11b card. Sympatico/MSN premium software.

without service pack 2 running my systems run fine.
PS both systems are running the antivirus and firewall that comes with Sympatico/MSN premium.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello
Direct your XP SP2 questions to the SP2 newsgroups.

Don't install SP2 until it is released in a non-beta state...
