Printer problems and XP

Did you check if the printer
spooler running ?

I am using the XP operating system which of course is
giving me the blues. It would be too much trouble to

it off. I have a Dell Dimension 8100. My problem is my
Lexmark Z53 printer stopped working. I am using an USB
connection I have downloaded and installed the updated
drivers. I was working fine for weeks Then Sunday it
stopped I see the documents in the printing queues but
they are not printing. It's like they stopped
communicating with the printer but I am not getting
error
messages. Of course the scanner does not work (it use to
work fine before XP).
