Win 7 Pro latest updates
I have many programs scheduled to record via the TV Tuner installed in the PC. All but one TV program get recorded perfectly. "Diagnosis Murder" I see it in the list to record. There are NO conflicts. This has been this way since I set it up several weeks ago. Should have recorded a dozen or so of this one. Other TV programs I set up after this failing one are being recorded. I have over 500GBytes of space so disk space is not the problem. Why won't this one TV program record ? Suggestions please. |

I'm assuming this is terrestrial TV, though probably some of the questions/thoughts would apply to satellite too. Are any of the other prog.s that _do_ record, on the same "channel" (or even multiplex) as that one? If it's the only one that's on that "channel", it might be that the EPG on that channel is broken, or that the EPGs as carried by other channels (or multiplexes) don't properly carry the details of that channel. Can you set it to record using manual entry of times and channel number, rather than looking at it in the guide and selecting "record that one"? (Also, have you been scheduling it by selecting individual episodes, or selecting "record series", assuming your recording software offers that? If the latter, have any other series [similarly selected] recorded OK?) [I've added another 'group - not 100% relevant, but has some knowledgeable folk in it.] -- J. P. Gilliver. Sorry my provider does not support your added newsgroup
Over the air. Only do record series. Perry Mason is on same channel two hours before and always records. 1 hour gap to Diagnosis Murder. No conflicts. J. P. Have WMC fixed their problem with EPG listings for the UK? I stopped using it and went over to NextPVR when their EPG feed over the web stopped. For DVB-T channels, its OK: those can be decyphered from the data carried in the DVB stream, but for DVB-T2 channels, the EPG listings are encrypted in a way that WMC can't decypher, so those channels remain empty in the EPG. Manual recording might be the only resort if certain programmes are no recording even though they appear in the EPG. Is there anything in the status report which lists every scheduled recording in the past and the recorded OK / failed because ... status. I forget where that report is, which shows how quickly I've forgotten details now I've gone over to NextPVR. I never understood why WMC couldn't schedule two overlapping recordings on channels which were on the *same* mux, when other programmes cope fine with this. |
