If your satisfied with whatever additional security you
have you should wait a few months for this.

SP2 is out. But it seems to be the gamma version. I'd
wait for the omega.

Just curious as to why I keep seeing this link to a download for SP
that is specifically intended for MULTIPLE installs for IT uses. Most
users here are obviously dealing with home installs. The MS link also
mentions that a SMALLER download for SINGLE home install will be made
available soon. Why would I want to download and/or deal with MORE
software that I need for a home install?? Heck, if MS is even OFFERING
a SMALLER, and easier version of ANY update, I will gladly wait for them
to provide it. Meanwhile, I for one, will leave the IT version to the
professionals. Just MHO. ;-Deano

The SP2 upgrade will install different components on systems, depending on
what previous updates have already been applied to a particular system.
Windows Update will handle this automatically and only download/install the
necessary components. WU will also detect whether it is Pro or Home and
install accordingly. This will have the effect of a smaller download and
faster installation.

The "IT" download that is referred to here is simply the full, standalone
version that has all the necessary components included that may be needed
for any given system. It will still install only the necessary components
and can be used for the Pro or Home version of XP. The main advantage to
downloading the IT version is that it can be transferred to a CD,
slipstreamed to an XP installation CD or placed on a server to be used to
upgrade multiple systems within an organization.

Many consumers do have small home networks with 2 or more XP systems that
this download would be ideal for. It is still the same version that is
available through WU.
