IE6 cannot view website after installing SP2
Before installing SP2, the IE6 didnt have any problem.
The IE6 cannot view website after installing SP2. On the status bar, the URL is added extra www and .net at the end. It seems the IE6 cannot find the correct one and try the similar. From the command interpreter, it can ping the site. Have tried from the IE,Tools-Internet Options-Advance then restore to default, but not success. Also have tried ipconfig /flushdns, the problem still. Anyone has solution? Which parameters should I check? Thanx |

1. Uninstall SP2 via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.
2. Run a thorough check for hijackware, including posting your HijackThis log to an appropriate forum. Check for Hijackware http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm http://aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/Darnit.htm http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/Malware_Defence.htm http://defendingyourmachine.blogspot.com/ When all else fails, HijackThis (http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use. It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post your HijackThis log to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, http://castlecops.com/forum67.html or http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30 for expert analysis, not here.** Do not install SP2 until an expert gives your HijackThis log a clean bill of health. Are these saved shortcuts? Also, have you modified the prefixes? If so,

I have tried your suggestion.
Now it is a little bit better. When the IE first executed, the home address URL is able to load. If any link is clicked, or another URL is entered, it cannot be loaded. It has to reset the internet connection to get the new URL load. One internet connection session can only load one web page. What is this? worms?
