Default Reset to Xp default codec config.

I wrote a post about problems capturing from DV. Still waiting for an
answer.
In the meanwhile I'm seriusoly thinking to reset XP to the default audio and
video config, due to multiple software install maybe causing conflicts or
misuse.
Is there a simple way to remove all the unwanted codecs?
BTW if looking into sound properties-hardware-video & audio codecs it
shows only a few, whil if checking in Gspot I get the following massive
list:
Is that normal?
