Default set up a spool server for printing

i'm in the process of setting up a print server, and would
like to set up a spool server as well. i'll be setting the
spool server up on a winxp pro workstation. i have approx
10 workstations that will be printing over the network.
how exactly does the spool server get set up to send print
jobs to the print server? (the print server will be
external connected to an hp laser jet 5 via parallel port)

let me know if there is any other info needed.

thanks,
MAC

XP pro will only allow 10 client connections so you will encounter times
when there will be client failures because a client application still has
open handles to the "server" (XP pro). You'll understand this when you
encounter the problem.

You need to setup the Laserjet 5 using the Add Printer Wizard and target a
network port rather than a USB or lpt port. Read the manual for your
device. If they have instructions for Standard TCP/IP port use this port
type.
If any of the clients are Windows 98, you need to make sure that the share
name of the printer is less that 12 characters long.
