Default Keyboard

My wireless keyboard gives the wrong character for depressed key. Have tried
updating driver, confirming correct language, a conventional wired keyboard
and mouse, ran pc-cillin for spyware and viruses and called India (H.P. and
M.S.) for help. I would
like to know how to rule out mother board from the operating system to
determine where the problem is.
