I'm still on Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.471)

Do I need to take any further action?

Install iOS ???

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14;
rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/60.3.3

If you'd paid attention to the technical content
in this group, you'd know what to do.

I'd take you more seriously, if you were focused
on the topic at hand.

471 is at the top of the 1803 list, on the left.

If you want 1809, download the DVD. The DVD should
be the new version. Google "download Windows 10"
*from the PC that needs it* and use the MediaCreationTool.
The MediaCreationTool stands the best chance of doing
a correct download. Have a blank DVD handy, for usage
with the tool. The DVD you make is *for emergencies*.

Once the download is complete, there should be an ISO9660
file. In File Manager, right click the Windows10.iso or
whatever it's called this week. An option at the top
of the list will be "Mount", which will mount the ISO
as a virtual DVD drive. (Doing the install from
a virtual DVD drive, gives much faster read access!)

Now, check My Computer for the drive letter. You should
see a drive letter for your (empty) physical DVD drive,
and a drive letter for your new virtual DVD drive.

Click the virtual DVD drive and run "setup.exe" on
that DVD. The 1809 upgrade will kick off.

Before upgrading, do a full backup of the disk drive.

If you have multiple disk drives, you can also disconnect
the drives not associated with the installation. But
that's a "belt and suspenders" safety approach. Use
your own discretion in this matter. Disconnecting the
excess drives, is easier than backing up all the drives.
When you disconnect a drive, disconnect both power and
data, and do that while the machine is shut down.
Disconnect data first, then power ("belt and suspenders").
The cables are designed to be order independent, but
my order of doing things assumes the connectors
are damaged.

There have been instances of SATA connectors burning,
so there's no such thing as "too safe" with this stuff.
There's always some kind of surprise waiting for you.

I have that on both iPhone and iPad but NOT on my Mac! ;-)

Interesting information, but I'll not do that, Paul.

Now that I'm at home for the winter, my Apple iMac is my principal
workhorse. I hope you can understand that.

I am also on 1803, and I am not worrying. (OS Build 17134.407)

It was 6 months before I got version 1703. And then I got both
1703 and 1709 in the same week, only a couple of days apart.

My copy Windows updated itself to Version 1809 (OS Build 17763.195) a
day or two after I posted that.

The trigger seemed to be that I clicked “check for updates” _twice_.
The first time it said I was fully up to date; I clicked it again
and it started downloading Version 1809.

With regard to the thread ‘"Check for Updates" makes you a Beta
tester "seeker"’ ...

* Although it was not a ‘C’ or ‘D’ week when I clicked “check
for updates”, maybe clicking twice meant that I became a beta
tester “seeker” and that Version 1809 was still considered
beta-ish. I have only noticed a couple of quirks with 1809
so far, nothing that is a real problem.

i) If I start the computer then click the notification icon
at the bottom right, the notification panel first opens
at the left (where the start menu belongs), and then
jumps over to the right (where the notification panel
belongs).

ii) If I start the computer and the task manager opens
automatically, the task manager window opens smaller
than it did in 1803. I need to enlarge the window
to show everything.
