Getting DSL on 2 computers
You need one modem and a router or a modem/router combination. You need the
requisite cables to go between the devices and your computer, unless you are using wireless. You need either LAN cards or wireless cards in each of your computers if you are doing wireless. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User (For email, remove the obvious from my address) Quote from George Ankner: If you knew as much as you think you know, You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew! Getting DSL on 2 computers
Hi,
Router, switch, or hub, any of these would serve the purpose. Basically, the connection goes to the device, which is connected in turn to both machines. A hub is the simplest, basically allowing the machines to communicate through its uplink. A router or switch are more intelligent devices, and would be my preference. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Atlanta Falcons" wrote in message news How would you hook up DSL on 2 computers? No. You need to network the two computers. Install a network interface card (NIC) in each computer. Buy a 4-port hub, switch, or router, then connect each NIC to that device. Also connect the DSL modem to that device. Since you will have a network, you can also share files and printers between the two computer, but you don't have to and can share just the internet connection. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

You need an external modem or modem/router.
Only one account is needed. -- Ron Sommer "Atlanta Falcons" wrote in message news How would you hook up DSL on 2 computers? Would I need 2 modems and would they both be on the same account thing and will i have to pay extra for any reason? ThanKs |
