Default CAN YOUR BURN A DVD ON COMBO DVD/CD-RW

My laptop (XP Home - May 2003) came with a 24x CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive. Someone
said all I need to burn DVDs is the right kind of software and then I just
drag the files in that I want to burn. Does anyone know IF I can use this
drive in this manner? And if YES, what software would be the best.

A drive that will burn DVD's will have the designation DVD-RW as per CD-RW..
it is not purely down to software.. A CD-RW/DVD combo drive burns CDs only..

You need a DVD drive designed with DVD recording ability in order to burn a
file to a DVD disc. You probably have only a DVD player without DVD recording.
No DVD recording software is going to make a DVD player into a DVD burner.

All caps (in your Subject) is considered screaming. You really expect
respect by screaming in our face?

So just who is this "someone"? Couldn't be you, right? Have that
"someone" post here to illuminate to the rest of us how the "right
kind of software" will convert a DVD player into a DVD recorder.

I kinda doubt it even reads DVD-R discs. Anybody know about that?
