Default Need help moving/copying a sub folder to an external device

I have a new Win 7 pc and am in the process of transfering folders
and files from my Win Xp SP3 to the Win 7 pc. I have had no problem
with moving and copying folders and files until I got to my Family
Genealogy master folder. One of the sub folders with multiple text and
image files refuses to move or copy to an external thumb drive. I have
used Easy Tranfer and that would not copy or move the sub folder and
also tried to manually drag and drop and copy and paste with the same
popup the tells me ..."cannot move and cannot copy file'.

All of the other sub folders in the Family Genealogy

Oddly, I am able to copy the subfolder to other locations on the XP pc
HDD but not to an external device.

I have also tried formating the thumb drives (I tried several) in both
FAT32 and NTFS but that doesn't work either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Frank
