virtual memory size locked at 1054mb
I run XP Pro. My virtual memory size is locked at
1054mb. I changed it to 512mb initial and maximum size under the "custom size" heading in the control panel: system: advanced: performance options: virtual memory window. Yet the "total paging file size for all drives" table still lists the recommended size at 1053mb. No matter what size I change the custom size to, my drive map shows 1054mb allocated. I've even tried to click on "no paging file," defragment the hard disk with Diskeeper, and reset the size to 512mb after reboot, but after the next reboot, my drive map still shows 1054mb allocated, not 512. Third party software that might possibly be related to this problem is TweakNow Powerpack 2005, but I do not know how it can force the paging file to remain the same size despite manually changing these settings on the Control Panel dialogue. I appreciate any assistance or insight! Sincerely Sean |

Do yourself a favore her and select system managed
size, apply,ok,ok,ok for restart the computer. Then forget about it.(I'll never know why you would want to set it so low for anyway, unless you have some small size hard drive like 5 or 10 Gigs, that you would want to not use up the free space.) -----Original Message----- I run XP Pro.
