I am no longer getting the hierarchical tree structure of messages on this
forum. They are all listed one after another in date order. Can anyone
suggest how to get it back?

It would have made things a lot easier if you had told us how you're
accessing this newsgroup.

The properties of your post seem to indicate that you're using Outlook
Express. Going on that info I'd suggest you click on the View menu at the
top of the OE window. Under Current View make sure Group Messages By
Conversation has a check mark next to it. If it doesn't click on it and that
should restore the check mark.

Good luck

The header of his message you replied to makes it clear. It says
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.5843

Yes, if the OP is asking for help with use of the same newsreader with
which he posted. Sometimes users have to use a different host to post
their troubles so you can't rely on with what they want help unless they
actually tell you. It's a guess, probably a good one, but not guaranteed.

Well, I'll grant you that there's a possibility that you're right and
I'm wrong. Still, I think the chances that I'm wrong are exceedingly
slim.

The properties of your post seem to indicate that you're using Outlook
Express. Going on that info I'd suggest you click on the View menu at the
top of the OE window. Under Current View make sure Group Messages By
Conversation has a check mark next to it. If it doesn't click on it and
that should restore the check mark.

Good luck
