Default Bit Defender 9 cannot remove

I have Windows xp home. My internet provider will provide me with another
vendors antispyware.First I have to remove Bit Defender 9 Antispyware.
I went to the control panel and add or remove programs. When I tried to
remove Bit Defender I get an error message #2753 cannot remove program.
I didn't know where to post this question but I thought Windows XP user
might have run into this problem before and solved it.
Help!
Thank you.

I read up on crossposting and now I understand what you mean.
I am a newbie and still have a lot to learn.
Thank you.
As to the helpful ideas, I had tried both of them but still got the 2753
message.
I don't understand if the message is coming from Bit Defender or from the
windows removal tool, hence some of my dumb posting.

Do you use Registry cleaners? Have you contacted BitDefender Support?

At times like this, you want a search site that allows site specific
searching. I used http://www.altavista.com/web/adv and set the
domain to bitdefender.com and used "uninstall" as the search term.
That got me this page as a solution. There is a link on the page,
to an uninstall tool.

http://kb.bitdefender.com/KB333-en--...tDefender.html

Good luck,
Paul

Thank you all. I used the free program removal tool that was listed.
It is named revo uninstaller and it found registry links that windows did
not remove. The Real Truth MVP gave me the answer.
Thank you all for your trouble.
After following Bit Defenders own ideas I still had parts of their program
hidden away and The Real Truth MVP recommended the revo uninstaller.
I installed it and ran it and am now very happy again.
Thanks to all.
