Default How can I scan a text form into a fillable word doc?

I have an HP psc 2210xi all-in-one printer/scanner. I am trying to scan an
application (job application) onto my pc (Dell - XP operating system) as a
fillable usable form that I can make changes to. I am using MS Office suite
2007. Can I do it in word or should it be a different MS Application?
Thank you,
Cecelala

Save it as a .jpg and then open it in your picture editing software.

For starters, your question should really be posted in a newsgroup devoted
to Microsoft Word. I think you'll find that the people there will be a lot
more familiar with this issue than those who check in on XP Basic.

That said, you might begin by going to your Start menu and look under
Microsoft Office Tools for an entry titled Microsoft Office Document
Imaging. Click on it. Once the program launches click on File - Scan New
Document. Once the scanning is finished click on Tools - Send Text to Word.
Don't be surprised if the output looks very different from the original
document. If you're lucky you won't have to spend a lot of time redoing the
formatting so it matches up with the original. The few times I've used
Microsoft Office's OCR software I've found it to be somewhat less than
perfect.

If you get stuck, click on the Help menu at the top of the window.

Good luck
