changing the display name of My Contacts
can i change the display name of contacts in my messenger window as many
people use obscure contact names and I want to make it easy to recall who it is?

In Windows Messenger you cannot. Using MSN Messenger 6.x+ and Messenger Plus (http://msgplus.net), you can change the display names of your contacts. However, in Windows Live Messenger (currently in beta, you can grab a copy he http://ideas.live.com/signup.aspx?ve...0-c6313f7ebb73), this feature is built-in.
