Default XP HE SP3 won't let me set 'sharing' for a folder

Bob,
I'm afraid I'm not that savvy. How do I check that?

Steve,
I have the same problem as above and tried your fix. I got the following
response: The server service could not be started. A system error has
occurred. System error 2 has occurred. The system cannot find the file
specified.

I am attempting to set up a network the same as the originator of this
post,
i.e., with 2wiregateway. I will be trying to share files and external
hard
drive from my ethernet connected PC to my new Macbook. Any advice on this
would be helpful as well.

Thanks,
DKM

I can't decipher what that error message is telling me.

Anyone have any suggestions about how to proceed ??

ps I am trying to set up file & printer sharing with my Mac, running
10.5.6, over my wireless network created by a 2Wire DSL modem.

To start the Server service:

1. Open a command prompt window: Start All Programs Accessories
Command Prompt.

2. Type this line at the prompt, then press Enter:

net start server

Make sure that "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" is
enabled in the properties for the LAN connection.

Yes, I was able to find this. The error is "the server service was unable
to load the server driver"
