System restore
Darrell;
You probably have corrupt files in System Restore. Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files: Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. Click System Restore Settings on left side. Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot. This deletes all Restore Points including corruption. Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point. System restore
Click on system restore--on left side click system restore settings. Turn
off system restore. Reboot, then turn system restore back on. This in effect clears corrupt system restore data. "Darrell" wrote in message ... System restore
Uhhm? Thank you for the prompt suggesstion however I
can't seem to get to the "Left side" that both posters are referring to. The program gives me an error message and the option to send to microsoft. It's tittled "System Restore Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" Please advise how to turn off system restore another way. Darrell SLC,UT |

System restore
Darrell;
Reboot to Safe Mode Reboot, tap F8 about once a second, at the menu choose Safe Mode, then try to turn off System Restore. Otherwise try Start/Run Type "cmd" ENTER Type "sfc /scannow" ENTER Have the Windows XP CD nearby. This will check and replace corrupted files. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] An easier way to read newsgroup messages: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...oups/setup.asp Please respond to newsgroup only for everyone's benefit.
