Default Icons in system tray

I have XP.
I need the icon (two screens) in the system tray that
tells me that I am online and I cannot find where to turn
it on.
StartControl PanelInternet and Networking Now What??
Can you help?

Ellen:
Try this...Control PanelNetwork and Internet ConnectionsNetwork
Connections. Right-click your connection and click Properties. Check the box
next to "Show icon in notification area when connected". Click OK.
