Update Caused Sound Failure
Today, Microsoft installed a huge update taking around an hour. After
that, my computer sound did not work. I went into device manager and found that all three sound devices were enabled (Realtek mother board sound, Nvidia video card sound and Creative Audigy Rx). I disabled the Realtek and Nvidia sound and the Creative started working. Another case where the update changed something that caused a problem. Hope this helps someone with a similar problem. |

Well, I noticed increased amount of disk i/o when using Firefox. Not sure whether it's a Win 10 AU issue. -- @~@ Remain silent! Drink, Blink, Stretch! Well, I noticed increased amount of disk i/o when using Firefox. Not sure whether it's a Win 10 AU issue. It's a heavy piece of crap of a program and has had memory leaks in particular for as long as it has existed. My suggestion is to use Brave if you like a Firefox-like browser which is lighter but includes the most popular security features. - -- Silver Slimer Islam is a disease -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJX7pP1AAoJEIwFfgf/rr+uboYH/iTomXbse26EUQYn6G89KlJ2 rra8pWlprxO/IBsYneNqiqyLXzmzGcrQobdVMEgVRxzjFDINcDhObZ2zkSgevc Oq tT8I9Hyw/VowT9vaGZUNkvwughlFjFf+NdXZdQXHY56USPDp1Xe2llf1c6t dYoKu t0EGo5Ls6GdCo/DlQNqJJwhmMH32w6WFvyg5SN3Vig4P5kihA8LlJbgqWdgXTlM3 BIvDZLxo0vI6NfvT1/ptIZPIhFSioMxG7ir9sUQtAfRtIXctxirbehQqzrs89eJy r/s7K+YsgzxPpNd6Pez8wt7PVOYhSaQQTRU3FeJB1Eh8MW1WxE0K LAR6Q9OQ2hY= =SncJ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Its core is weak and it's the reason Mozilla is seeking to change it. - -- Silver Slimer Islam is a disease -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJX7sqaAAoJEIwFfgf/rr+uTRUIAIFMIILPXJC9H3I1mAD7WtvM yKVzWF6b4ICY4QuGnRoY07sHbqkhZ2nP717AQ4Rz43AqFGgZRL LVzFMa3iiVRmxY U/RBPq/jzflCy3iOfUpYE4prgWiQ08k/NIxcwIJAWiHrOClMf8TnkrK76nNWVazZ jmvKl9eHlJRt1yWR4t9Mgzuk/mxpTM9OhL4R8vYtHqGJ8gCwsjm8NtA4hVpg0mVR 1zXeBgbfq75U/IjktY8TdGOsQfh+cSRKM0N+S/Fy/ra2cDjMy+KMWkK5eQsA0iDh qEZKN/sS+7l+jmeOKsw1Yl15jRRUJAqaZbCwGzFgWY0+hmE6mZdlhbBJ akNmyC4= =9lwg -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

If it happens again, you could check the Sound icon in the Task bar. Right click it and see if there is a Record and Playback sub-item to use. In there, you can select one-of-N sound devices. Several of the OSes have that kind of selector logic down there. https://s32.postimg.org/yy8qps8w5/speakers.jpg Paul |
