I have misplaced my router password. I know it is saved somewhere in

Where in my Win 7 computer is the router code stored?

Why not just reset the router? You using mostly default settings right?

You do know that ISP routers (rental routers) work
different than your home router ?

ISP routers have multi-level passwords. Some portions
of the router are not intended for home user access.
ISP routers may also allow remote access by ISP
Tech Support, using their own password.

Pressing the reset button does *not* open all
three levels of password. The ISP password is
probably still secure.

Resetting the modem/router using that little button
and a hair pin, may remove the lowest level of password,
maybe.

Well, you could always phone your ISP to confirm the password before
resetting it, right? Unless your land-line phone also needs a password.

Anyway, I mean go for the simplest solution. Don't try to be fancy.
