Default Setup my LAN and get the Internet??

Hi Wayne,
The simpliest way is get a DSL router.(I recommend
linksys, easy to configure and cheap)
Connect your DSL modem to the router and the router should
be connected to your switch or hub. Some Linksys routers
have 4 extra ports for LAN so you can discard your hub or
switch.
The router has 2 interfaces, one of them is for your ISP
and the other one is for your lan. If you'd configured
many dsl connections before the first part with your ISP
should be ok, for the lan part change the router's default
IP address (usually 192.168.1.1) to 169.254.X.X (as a
sample 169.254.1.1, but not to screw up your lan settings)
so the other PC's can communicate with the router.
Finally: All your PC's Gateway IP addresses need to be set
to the routers lan address 169.254.1.1 . For the DNS you
can use the same router address or your ISP's DNS IP
addresses if they can provide you.
If you have any other questions let the newsgroup know.
good luck,
