Default Out of range error

A friend is running windows XP on a Packard Bell PC. He
has just put his computer on and before it went into
anything else, he got a box on the screen saying

i Out of Range

H:27.8KV:91.9

He says he has not put the computer on for over a year.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a monitor error message. Try starting in the Safe Mode and
lower the video settings in the Control Panel Display Settings
Advanced.
If this does not work, try another monitor or test this moitor with
another computer.

Hi,

Have him change the refresh rate under Display Properties/Settings/
Advanced/Monitor.
