Shut of problems
I had 2 accounts (Administrator + Name1) on my XP Pro. Lately the Name1 account started to have problems. So I made a new one Name2 and transferred a lot to this new account. If I trie to shut down my PC in this new account I just recently (and only in this account) get the message "PROXY DESKTOP closing....." followed by "Does not react....." after which I'm asked to close it. Right thereafter I get another message: "SYSFADER cllosing...." also followed by "Does not react....". Only after having closed these 2 items the PC shuts of. Anyone any idea what this is. (Ad-aware and anti-virus detects nothing) Furthermore I cannot find any references to these 2 "programs"

Try to use Spybot: Search and Destroy also. Ad Aware 6.0/Spybot do not

Also make sure you get the latest versions; Spybot S&D 1.3, Ad-Aware
6.181, as the earlier versions of these programs will no longer update and they miss TONS of junk. So far in my testing Ad-aware 6.181 kicks Spybot 1.3's butt; in one case Spybot found 73 problems, immediately afterwards Ad-aware found 217 more problems! In fact I have the very latest of Ad-aware (also with Ad-watch which should prevent spyware to get on your PC "before" where Ad-ware can delete it "after" it's already installed.) [Ad-ware with ad-watch is not "free"]. I also have spybot S&D but like someone mentioned it's far behind Ad-aware (rarely any updates), but can do much more than just removing spyware !!!!! I'll try it anyway although it takes more than 20' to run through the complete sequence..............
