Default Accessories Program Group missing from "All Programs" list (XP Hom

My Accessories Program Group has disappeared from the StartAll Programs
list. I know the programs are still there - eg Runcalc.exe & dfrg.msc still
work. What's more, of the four accounts on the PC, three of them have the
Program Group but one (mine !) doesn't. Have tried using the "Add/Remove
Windows components" trick to remove & reinstall - no joy. Have also tried the
"Accrestore" utility - again no luck (even though it said it had done it).
Have tried restarting after each of the above - no luck.
I suspect that somehow the Program Group has got hidden - but how, why, and
how to get it back, I have no idea. All thoughts gratefully received ! Thanks
in advance.

It sounds as if the "Accessories" folder has been deleted from the "All
Users" path.

In an account that has the Accessories group showing, right click on
Start and choose "Open". Double click on "Programs" and then copy the
"Accessories" folder into
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories

Thanks, but sorry to say it didn't work. The "Accessories" folder was already
present in the "All Users" group. Tried pasting it again and re-booting, but
didn't resolve the problem.

When I look at these folders in "My Computer", I notice something odd -
maybe this gives some clues about what's going on ? For the three users where
everything works as it should, the icons in the "Accessories" folder for the
sub-folders, short-cuts, and applications all look normal. In the one account
where I'm having trouble, the "Accessories" folder is present and contains
everything it should, but all the icons in it look look semi-translucent,
like they're not properly there or are half-hidden or something. And they
don't appear on the "All Programs" menus.

All other ideas gratefully received please !

Many thanks, but I tried this procedure first - didn't work. I've also tried
the "AccRestore" utility from the same page - again, it didn't work - even
though when it ran, it said it had done it - but the Accessories group is
still not visible on the All Programs list.

Any other thoughts folks ?
