Activation Connection

The internet is working fine. The internet account has already been created per my image. My question is still, does anyone know why I wouldn't be able to do the Activation over the internet? Has anyone ever seen the message Checking Connections but it never goes any further. I have called the number listed for activation and that does work, just would like to have the convience of doing it over the internet.

During the steps, you get to choose between internet and manual [or telephone a microsoft representative].

Select your country and a number will be displayed. Call it, key in the key shown in the window and all should be fine. If you do not get an activation code, but are asked if you want to speak to a person, go ahead and explain the situation. They will reissue a code if you have a genuine reason and prove that you own the software licence.
