'Youre already logged on to messenger on another computer'
since downloading explorer version7 I get the eror message above when going
from 'windows live messenger' to 'hotmail inbox'. I get signed out of live messenger if i click the message. I think it's something to do with NET passwords, but i dont know how to fix it, or if it's just a bug. Any answer please?? -- gx |

'Youre already logged on to messenger on another computer'
ps, the full error message (in a pop up) is youre already logged on to
messenger on another computer. And i was using an earlier version of messenger until i downloaded the explorer upgrade - which gave me the windows live messenger by default. -- gx "gx" wrote: since downloading explorer version7 I get the eror message above when going from 'windows live messenger' to 'hotmail inbox'. 'Youre already logged on to messenger on another computer'
Greetings,
IE7 won't affect Messenger nor will make you install Windows Live Messenger, but regardless assuming you like Windows Live Messenger, you can solve this problem quite easily. What's happening is Windows Messenger (not Live) is loading in the background. To prevent it from signing you in automatically, you can simply remove your saved Messenger credentials (this won't affect Windows Live Messenger). To do so, click the Start Button, then click the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select the Windows account name in question, and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click 'Remove'. You should then be good to go. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Live Messenger/MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2006 Jonathan Kay.
