Need link to installer for VLC 2.2.8
All paths I have found lead to 3.0.1 which crashes all the time.

There could also be a portable one, a source tarball, as some of the other download options. The one that installs, the EXE, is probably the best for regular usage. Paul

So now I installed 3.0.1 (administrator) with no problems. Testing with Chromecast: I'm playing my second video file.and all plays fine up to now. I've deliberately kept my PC on VLC 2.1.5 because several of the later versions crashed when playing MPEG files that I had recorded from TV. Reverting to 2.1.5 was such a major exercise that I've never had the courage to risk fouling up a working version of VLC with any of the more recent versions to see if they've fixed the MPEG bug yet.
