Need link to installer for VLC 2.2.8

All paths I have found lead to 3.0.1 which crashes all the time.

Naming rule #1:
Which sounds better when placed in front of your child's name:
"Supreme Court Justice" or "Now appearing live on center stage"?
If it's the latter, rethink your name choice.

From the search results, select the EXE one, which installs.

There could also be a portable one, a source tarball,
as some of the other download options. The one that
installs, the EXE, is probably the best for regular
usage.

An archive of all prior versions -- plus the current version -- is at

OK, I had no idea there was an update. According to my version 3.0.0 there
was none.
So now I installed 3.0.1 (administrator) with no problems.
Testing with Chromecast:
I'm playing my second video file.and all plays fine up to now.
Only one remark: the sound volume control doesnt seem to work....

I've deliberately kept my PC on VLC 2.1.5 because several of the later
versions crashed when playing MPEG files that I had recorded from TV.
Reverting to 2.1.5 was such a major exercise that I've never had the courage
to risk fouling up a working version of VLC with any of the more recent
versions to see if they've fixed the MPEG bug yet.
