Startup Dropbox
All of a sudden Dropbox has started loading at boot.
It's version 60.4.107. I've unticked "load at startup" in Preferences, and disabled the two update Services entries. But it still loads. It started only a few days ago. Is anybody else seeing this? Or anybody know how to stop it? Ed |

That's how the Update Orchestrator gets to run, is by filling the Task Scheduler with triggers and stuff to do. And the USOSVC in effect, kicks off Windows Update. Paul |

Â*Â* Paul You've done it again for me, Paul. Thanks a million. I didn't think to look in there, but there were two tasks. I'm wondering how they got in there. I did a system restore going back 3 days, and the problem disappeared. But it reappeared later the same day, and I'd done no updates. I'm wondering if a complete re-install of Dropbox would be beneficial. Ed |

That covers Task Scheduler items as well as lots of others. (And - like several of the other startup controller utilities - it has "disable" as well as "remove" options [just untick the box], so you can try things, without removing them altogether which you might not want to do if you don't know how they got there so don't know how to put them back if their removal has undesired effects.) -- J.
