This is a very simple clock page: http://notstupid.us/clox/clockie.html .
It will tell you if Javascript works (since the clock is updated every
second).

How do you know JS does not work?

Because I get reminded that it does not work. Is there a definite test so that I am sure
that it does not work? Thanks.

Can you try with another browser?
And turn off the avaast spam?

I have turned off avaast spam? Thinking about getting another browser.

Using another browser to test things like this can be helpful.

It has information like this:

JavaScript True
JavaScriptEnabled True
JavaScriptBuild 5.7.22589

Mainly said "Not detectable with javascript disabled" also said 'An
add-on for this website failed to run'.

Indicated that JavaScript is True and that JavaScriptEnabled is True

What about Internet Options and the Security Level slider ?

If you crank the security level too high, it's not going
to want to do squat for you :-)

(The best security obviously comes from not exposing the

Yep, that's the same URL that Mark gave you.

As mentioned by Mark, the clock updates every second. That is because
Javascript is used to update the clock. Right-click on the page and
look at its source. You'll see the clock is defined within the SCRIPT
tag.

In a prior reply, I gave a couple sites that tell you if Javascript is
enabled in the client you use to visit those pages. They're pretty
simple. They'll tell you if your client has Javascript enabled or not.

Because of observation on the internet, but I cannot recall which ones. I

You gave the same URL as did Mark who can see the clock as well as I.
We see it. You don't. Giving the same URL won't show others what you
see. Taking a screen or window snapshot and uploading it and giving
that URL would let others see what you see. For example, when you visit
the test site with a Javascripted clock, right-click on the page, and
view its source code, you should see:

Rendered page: https://imgur.com/a/HbOvNnD
Source code: https://imgur.com/a/NDGYV4J

Notice that I do *not* give the same URL as did Mark for the web page.
I'm giving a URLs to an uploaded screenshots that shows what I *saw*
when looking at the rendered page and the source code of the web page.

Could be Javascript is not enabled in your IE. Could be other reasons
for the page to not get delivered completely or rendered correctly.
That's why I suggested other sites to simply tell you if Javascript was
enabled or not along with a list of other troubleshooting steps that
could affect how IE renders the page.

Note: When I disable active scripting (Javascript) in the Internet
security zone (something already mentioned to check in my other reply),
yep, the page just shows "requires document.all". So it could be IE has
scripting disabled in its Internet security zone, or due to some add-on
you installed into IE, or your anti-virus program, or other
possibilities mentioned.

How about you give us a URL of a site's page you think uses Javascript
but the page "does not work"? Could be the site you're visiting simply
refuses to work with an antiquated web browser, like IE (any version).

Here are some test sites:

https://www.whatismybrowser.com/dete...script-enabled

http://www.cyscape.com/showbrow.aspx?bhcp=1
(check JavascriptEnabled value)

I did the test on your second URL and this is what I got:

That message is quickly replaced with the time by Javascript.
Apparently, yours isn't working. This was a way to test that. You could
try it with a different browser, it works in all current major browsers
(Firefox, Chrome, Opera).

A picture here of what that clock looks like in a browser.

This might be the "expected result", visually.
