Password Won't Take
This seems strange.
I am using a re-created XP SP3. I have one user - Administrator. It was not password protected, and I changed that as I always have. Then I re-booted (twice) to assure the password took. So far I have found that the system boots up without asking for the password. Why could this happen? Anyone? Wei |

Wei Normally, when booting you are not given the option to boot to "Administrator" unless you boot up in safe mode. You are evidently booting the the "user" account which may of course have administrative privileges A very good point. +1 |

Click "Start", "Run", type "control userpasswords2" into the "Open" box, click "OK" and make sure "Users must enter a user name and password..." is checked. If this doesn't help, you might try creating a new, password- protected user account with administrative privileges. Ben |
