Default User Accounts

I have XP Home and have just one user account - me. Well, I downloaded
several Windows Updates one of which was asp.net. This created a new user
account called asp.net. Now when I boot up, I have to click on my user
account to get to my desktop rather than being taken there automatically as
was the case prior to the .net update.

Does anyone know of a way to avoid having to select my account on startup?
Is this .net account necessary or can I just delete it?

Any information would be appreciated.
