Default Active Desktop

I asked this question a few weeks ago but have not yet found a cure, so I am
posting again in the hope that someone new may see this or that someone may
have thought of a cu-

I used to have a html page (just a home made creation) displayed on my
desktop a few years ago, however I have tried to do the same on my XP
machine and I am unable to display it. Active desktop is enabled as I use
Active Desktop Calendar, which is the only HTML that I can seem to get on my
desktop. I have tried disabling ADC but still cannot get any kind of html
page to display on my desktop. We have another desktop PC running the same
version of Windows (XP Home) and this works fine and can display any HTML
page, I have checked the settings between both PCs and they both appear to
be the same. I have checked the Active Desktop settings in the register and
they are also the same. The only difference I can find is the Java setup
appears to be a fuller version on the problem machine.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried logging in as a different user on the computer where Active
Desktop isn't working? You might even create a brand new user and test with
that account to see if it is profile specific.

The other thing you might do (after backing up your registry) is to copy the
ntuser.dat file from the working computer to the non-working computer. Then
import that into your registry. This will overwrite the user settings on the
non-working computer with the settings of the working computer. If you're
nervous about this option, and you should be, I would create a System Restore
point prior to attempting this. Then you can easily restore your computer if
overwritting the ntuser.dat doesn't work.
