Default MB 940 socket

Hi I have an AMD asus M2V MB running an AMD athlon X2 940 slot CPU duel
core.
and want to know if I can upgrade to quad core using the same MB, thanks

I don't see any here. They'd be 8xxx or 9xxx.

No, you'd need a mobo with an AM2 socket for AMD triple and quad cores. 939
and 940 sockets are obsolete.
