Hello,
On Win10 - Outlook 2016, it seems to be impossible to make some search within email. Result is always : nothing. Inexation statut seems to be ok. I've found some answers on the web that give script for make a reset on ACL but there is no change. So, can someone tell me how to repair this ? Is there a third party software for searching within Oultook ? Thanks for any advice. GB |

GB An example of a search term: Outlook 2016 federated search Here is an article, detailing the two search options. The Exchange server can do the search for you, on the Exchange end. But you can disable this, and go back to Windows Search Index. https://social.technet.microsoft.com...?forum=outlook For the Windows Indexing Options to work, Outlook 2016 must provide a "search provider". Any time a text file is not a plain text file, a "search provider" tells the Windows Search Indexer how to access the text in a database or compressed archive. So if the format of the file is "complex", a "search provider" decodes the container, and delivers the plain text the Indexer needs. So if a tool is not integrating well into Federated Search, then you want to verify the "search provider" of the tool, is working. And the picture here, shows the addition of the folder location to the search. Notice that the Microsoft Outlook entity shown here, is not file/folder based. The "search provider" appears to have registered with the Search Indexer, causing a new separate item to appear in the list. Ticking that box, allows the next Index Build, to include the Outlook stuff. http://www.standss.com/blog/indexedlocations.jpg Just a guess, Paul |

I'm working alone on just one computer. Outlook seems to be registered in search indexer. However, I don't have a little arrow (as on your picture) to develop and see what is "inside" / under Outlook. For example, if I'm searching something basic as my name or just a "a", Outlook find 2 or 3 messages. And I've got more than 4000 messages in my Inbox... Very boring for me, I've to find a lot of invoices for my accountacy today :-{ |
