No 'available wireless networks' after SP2
Pre-SP2, my Linksys Dual-band A+G Wireless PC card (WPC55AG) worked
perfectly with WEP encryption to my Netgear 802.11g Access Point (AP). After SP2, when I view 'Network ConnectionsView Available Wireless Networks' I get "No available networks were found in range" and I cannot connection wireless. If I disable encryption on my AP - I can connect wireless, but SP2's 'View Available Wireless Networks' still shows no wireless networks. However, the Linksys WLAN Monitor utility on my SP2 laptop shows my AP and its details just fine. How do I get SP2 to see my AP again? With the non-encrypted wireless connection and SP2 firewall enabled and configured, I can still use my remote access and FTP programs just fine. I don't think this is a firewall problem. |
