Default Very Strange Things Happening Under WinXP Prp SP2...

This morning, for reasons that totally escape me, every time I try to start
any Office application, including certain non-Office applications such as IE
6.0, an installation procedure starts running to install FrontPage 2003.
FP2003 IS installed on this computer, and has been for months. I have made
no attempt to reinstall it today or ever. The installation even tried to
run happened when I clicked on the NEW POST button in Outlook Express to
post this message. I, of course, cancelled every attempt to run the setup
for FP2003 today.

What causes this? And, what can I do to put an end to it?

Ooops! I meant FP2002! Sorry.

I finally inserted the FP CD & let it do whatever it was trying to do, which
only took seconds at most and did not display any screen in the process.

In the words of Lewis Carroll "Curioser and curioser!"
