It's very secure, because not much of it works, and almost nothing works
when MS downloads un update.

Talking of businesses, Vista (like Acrobat) is part of the modern business
model, the sole purpose of which seems to be to drive end users MAD.

We must realize that times have changed, Windows XP is built on a way more
robust codebase compared to Windows 9x. So it stands the test of time more
confidently especially after years of Service Packs Windows XP has become
a mature product and a lot has been built on and for the platform.

But Vista is more fundamentally secure, and users and businesses will
require the changes in security that the platform offers making it a no
questions asked move to Vista.

Andre, there is a category of people who have very hard time accepting
any change. They cut their own nose but do what they please.

In 3 years they will be running around with green faces looking for
drivers and envious of software that has been developed for Vista only
and they cannot use it in XP.

People said the same thing about Windows 3.1, 95, NT 4, 98, 98 SE, 2000
and ME.

I guess its good luck. The point remains though, no one is forcing
anyone to upgrade.

As you can read in the above article, my words exactly.. Im getting
bored of being right all the time.

As I have said before, microsoft will be forced to extend support of
XP for a very long time...

Only if they make the next version of windows (called windows 7)
better than the monstrosity called vista, will XP be retired
You read the article. You forgot to read the reader comments. It must
be a terrible burden being right all the time, huh?

Hello turnipbrain. You dont say? Like this comment?

c'mon guys/gals, you can't be serious. I tried Switching to Vista 3 times
now. Twice at Home and once at Work. What I find is that the sudden and
often mysterious crashes prevent me from actually getting any work done, or
worse (as was one case at home, some serious data loss).

Turnipbrain? How playground!

All I meant was that of all the comments listed under that article, the
first 4 were positive about Vista, you had to go to the 5th comment in
the list to prove that you were ALWAYS right! Obviously, 4 of the first
5 said you weren't.

Yeah but in those cases the new M$ OS had something that made it worth
upgrading to.

Everyone is missing the point here...

Why should Microsoft be allowed to release faulty product? The stress that
it causes alone is unacceptable. If it were any other organisation they would
fold but of course Microsoft have the monopoly so its OK.

Do I like Vista... well I have my old laptop with XP and I have my new top
of the range laptop with Vista.... I have to use my old laptop becuase my new
one crahses all the time, is painfully slow and will not stay connected to
the net. Apparently Vista SP1 will solve all of these problems.... OK then!

What makes it worse is as soon as Vista is working (please make it soon)
they will release yet another faulty OS and we're all back to square 1...

Its wrong!!!!

Sheesh, Einstien was right, there is no limit. Who determines "faulty",
and who determines "stress"!
