Default ShortCut keys "die"

XP Pro - all updates applied

I notice that SOMETIMES SOME shortcut keys (like F2 & even Delete) no =
longer work, while other keys (like F1, F5) still do.

It does seem this happens when I log on by first pressing =
Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice (instead of using the "friendly" log-on screen) - =
(usually because I am standing up)

This does NOT happen ALL the time (not even every time I use =
Ctrl-Alt-Del) & may also be connected with the screen saver (Webshots) =
being active at the same time (?)

If I reboot & use "friendly" log-in, all keys again work (so it's not =
hardware problem)

I also suspect the interval between the 2 Ctrl-Alt-Del affects whether =
the problem reoccurs or not
