Default WLM unavailable

I am trying to configure Windows Live Messenger for a web cam, but I've come
to a stop, because when I sign in I get a message telling me that the service
is temporarily unavailable, and to try later. Detailed message:
http://chopperbobby.com/WliveM.jpg .
My WLM is Version 2009 (Build 14.0 8050.1202)
I have Win XP Home.
I can't believe that WLM can be out of service as long as it has been. Any
known problems with this?
Any suggestions?
Bob

I found out in another post that it was an AVG setting that was causing the
problem.
