Default Messenger Iive to 5.1

I have two questions. 1. can a vista business with Live messenger 8.0 ask for
remote assistance from an XP w/SP2 with messenger 5.1. 2. Can I add messenger
live 8.0 and keep messenger 5.1 on the XP system. Reasion being I have
customers with messenger 5.1 and some with messenger live 8.0. I need to be
able to connect to both.

Answer to question 1: yes
Answer to question 2: yes (in fact, to use remote assistance through msn
messenger 8.0, you have to have windows messenger installed... removal of
windows messenger will prevent remote assistance from working properly
through msn messenger 8.0 (or any of its later versions/variant)
