Default IE8 shutting down after DEP pops up on Windows XP

Hi,
I'm using windows XP and whenever I try to launch IE8 the Data Execution
prevention window pops causing the browser to close.
I've removed the DEP but now IE8 wont open. Even when I try "Browse without
add-ons" it still refuses to open.
Any help/guidance much appreciated.

Apologies if this has already been answered.

DEP is designed to help prevent buffer overflow attacks by malware. If
you are receiving warnings from DEP, it usually means your computer is
infected.

A less common reason for receiving DEP warnings is installing software
that conflicts with DEP. This might be caused by third-party browser
add-ons you have installed, since IE 8 by itself has no problem with DEP.

That will "fix your problem" in the same way that turning off your
burglar alarm will stop that annoying siren from blaring.

Goto Tools= Internet options - Advanced Tab - scroll down to the "
security category and then uncheck the option: " Enable memory
protection to help mitigate online attacks "

This should fix your problem
