Microsoft Document Imaging Question
Hello. I have scanned 3 pages and saved as tiff - but when I try to select
text, I can only select text from the first page and not from the second or the third? Is there a way to do this with document imaging? If this is not the correct newsgroup to post my question, could someone please direct me. Thank you. Cat |

Microsoft Document Imaging Question
I take it that you cannot display the second and third pages?
If this is the problem, what application are you using to view the tiff file? It may be necessary to use a third party viewer that can select pages from multipage tiff files to view, modify, and print. Tiff files in general are a graphic (image) file, not a file that contains text as text. You can generally select a part of a tiff file, and print or do whatever with it as an image. A downloadable program, IRFAN View should do what you want. (Multipage TIF editing) http://www.irfanview.com/ "Cadonn" wrote in message ... Hello. Microsoft Document Imaging Question
That is fantastic. I can see all three pages in Document Imaging but I can
only select text from one page. It makes sense what you said: "Tiff files in general are a graphic (image) file, not a file that contains text as text. You can generally select a part of a tiff file, and print or do whatever with it as an image" So would I just use IRFAN on its own or would I use it with Document Imaging? Microsoft Document Imaging Question
I generally use Irfan viewer on it's own. But-- I usually don't use document
imaging. Most of my work with tiff files is with photograpic files and photo related software. My scanner software (Viewscan, and occasionally the OEM scanner software) generally can do what I need to do, including automatic invocation of the appropriate application(s) "Cadonn" wrote in message ...
