Default WinXP - access to one program only and no internet access also. How??

Login to the PC is by way of Active Directory. In other words, this PC
has network connectivity but we just don't want access to the
Internet. Setup would be similar to a PC one would find in a public
library where access to a PC might be limited to searching a local
database or catalog only on a local server. Anyone know how to set
this up without using 3rd party software? Thank you.

Statically setup IP and block IP address from egress at the Router/border gateway.

I've also had success by simply removing the default gateway IP.

Will users still be able to install the IP? I guess what I need is a
fully lockdowned PC. Turn the PC on and all that is available is one
application and the abiity to print to a network printer. No control
panel, no Internet, no Windows Explorer, etc. Is freeware available?
Thanks.

This is something that should be done outside the computer blocking IP
address from egress at the Router/border gateway. This can also be done
using a dynamic address just that it would take more work at the
Router/border gateway (may be possible only with certain equipment as well).

It sounds like you want a "kiosk PC". This takes administration, not
"freeware".

Yes, if they know what it is and where to enter it.

fully lockdowned PC. Turn the PC on and all that is available is one

Well, that changes things a bit. I retract my earlier suggestion. It
sounds like you need something that gives you a "kiosk mode" or
similar. You may be able to get there with security policies, assuming
you're running XP Pro. I haven't used 3rd party software for that, so
I have no suggestions.
